Is the first consultation free?
The initial 30-minute consultation is complimentary. It covers a preliminary discussion and initial assessment. Detailed document review, research, written opinions, and ongoing representation require a separate agreement.
How are legal fees confirmed?
The firm explains the scope, professional fees, applicable HST, and anticipated disbursements before you enter a retainer agreement. Fees are quoted in Canadian dollars. A written quote is provided for your matter.
How can we meet?
Consultations are available by telephone, video conference, or in person by appointment. Please give at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.
What should I prepare?
Have a brief summary of your circumstances, relevant documents, and any decisions or notices showing deadlines ready for the consultation.
Does an enquiry mean you represent me?
No. Representation begins only after the firm accepts your matter and confirms the retainer arrangements.
Are legal aid matters accepted?
Legal aid arrangements are pending confirmation. Acceptance and coverage must be confirmed with the firm before relying on legal aid representation.
